Royal Mint Museum
Kerry spent two weeks at the Royal Mint Museum looking at the Mint’s collection of eighteenth-century tokens and cataloguing them. The BNS placement provided her with the opportunity to gain new skills.
‘I want to thank the British Numismatic Society for funding my time at the Museum … The opportunity gave me valuable networking and career experience as well as assisted me with the completion of my PhD chapter, so it is hard to emphasise how great it was’.

Sarah spent two weeks at the Fitzwilliam Museum working with their coin collection. During her time at the museum, Sarah undertook the important task of weighing and ticketing ‘the museum’s entire collection of Australian coins and a substantial chunk of a donated collection of ancient coins from Asia Minor’. ‘I would like to thank the British Numismatics Society and the curatorial team at the Fitzwilliam Museum for making this summer internship possible … for the opportunity to work with their collections, exhibitions, and library, and for their hospitality and kindness during my stay, and … for introducing me to the field of metals conservation. I am extraordinarily grateful for the experience and look forward to returning to the Fitzwilliam Museum soon.’ |
