NORTH THAMES - CATUVELLAUNI & TRINOVANTES (Map)
A large group of coins, including those of Cunobelin who finally conquered the Trinovantes by capturing Camulodunon (Colchester) in c. AD 8-10; the two tribes had issued their own separate coins until the conquest, and they had probably been in conflict since the mid 1st century BC. There may have been periods before the capture of Camulodunon when the two tribes used a single coinage. [ABC coin numbers 2771-3008].
