Oxford coins are not particularly scarce with 929 being documented in the Brussels Hoard. It was one of the mints to produce class 2 coins (2b2,) and these are known for all four moneyers. At Oxford the moneyers were Adam Feteplace, Geoffrey Stockwell, Henry Simon and Willliam Sarsorius. All were powerful and often corrupt. Adam Feteplace was the least prolific moneyer based on Brussels and Colchester hoards data. The commonest classes are 3b and 3ab1, and the scarcest are 2b2 and 3bc. |
