Two-Line (3rd Coinage, N 635-641). - The moneyer Ecgwulf was one of Burgred's (Mercia) , and there is an end date for the coin due to the suspicious death of Ecgwulf, who was at that time the 'King's Marshall', along with a few other notables, recorded in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicles, about 897.
