Tree symbol on plain field./ Triple-tailed horse r, [C]OMVX, two pellets, crescent and tiny x (forming hidden sad face) above, tiny x below head, tiny x and six-spoked wheel below. ABC 2054, VA 1092, BMC 3061-63, S 385. Dr Thomas Markey thinks that the basic sense of the Dobunni king’s name Comux was likely to have been ‘equally high, as elevated as’ and then one can infer the cultural semantics…‘the next in line, etc’…The spelling COMVX must be fairly early and probably reflects association with Gaulish orthographies.
