Anglo-Saxon England, Secondary Series (710-760), Sceat, Series O, type 38, finely drawn bust right, almond-shaped eye, snub nose descending from hairline (nose-guard ?), swept back hair, plain shoulder breaking beaded surround, cable border, rev. small bird flying right in stitched double torc, enclosing boss-headed snake anticlockwise, 1.18g, 0° (SL 58-10 plate coin; SCBI 69, 584 this coin; T&S pp. 470-2, 373-5; Gannon 35-6, 61, 174, no. 125, 175, 181, 189, no. 62, Fig. 2.16; Spink 807 plate coin).   Very rare.
