This type stands at the head of the rare series of coins now attributed to the Worcester mint. The reverse die, with the date altered from 1643, was previously used at Bristol. All subsequent issues from this mint show crowned royal arms on the reverse. Bull lists this specimen as one of the finest of perhaps 10 known coins.
