Obverse: armoured King on horseback left with raised sword, plumelet behind in field, Latin legend and beaded border surrounding both sides, initial mark plumes, .CAROLVS. D: G: MAG: BR: FR: ET. HI: REX. Translates as: "Charles by the grace of God, King of Great Britain, France and Ireland,"

Reverse: Latin declaration in two lines, RELIG: PROT: / LE: AN: LI: PA: ruled line above and below, date below, three Bristol plumes above, initial mark BR monogram, .EXVRGAT. DEVS. DISSIPENTVR. INIMICI. The central Declaration as Charles I gave to the Privy Council at Wellington, Shropshire on 19th September 1642 as "The Religion of the Protestants, the Laws of England, the Liberty of Parliament" which when shown in full Latin should read "Religio Protestantium Leges Angliae Libertas Parliamenti," the outer legend translates as "Let God arise and let his enemies be scattered," a Psalm from the Bible.
