Provenance: Wicklewood hoard, Christie's, 15 May 1990, lot 96. In 1989 a hoard of medieval coins minted during the reign of Henry I and Stephen was found in Wicklewood, south Norfolk. A subsequent salvage excavation and fieldwalking at the find site produced further coins and objects from other periods including a number of Roman artefacts. |
